Harbor View Way, Nantucket
Calm harbor water, great for dogs nervous about waves. A morning stroll here before the crowds arrive is the best soft launch of the trip.
Hulbert Ave, Nantucket
One of the most popular beaches on the island, with easy parking and calm water. Early-morning and evening visits are the move in summer.
Hummock Pond Rd, Nantucket
Excellent surf beach on the south shore with a more remote feel. Great for a long walk along the sand.
Madaket Rd, west end of island
Stunning sunsets and a wide-open beach that stays less crowded than the east end. About six miles from town.
Eel Point Rd, Nantucket
A sheltered cove with calmer waters. Good for families and nervous dogs, and quieter than Jetties.
